A New Rhythm
Mid-Century Modern Series
24" x 12" x 2"
A New Rhythm is an exploration of color, pattern, and movement through a distinctly Mid-Century Modern lens. Layers of blue, teal, green, soft aqua, cream, and unexpected pops of orange create a playful arrangement of geometric shapes across the surface.
The hand-drawn lines move through and around the glass forms, connecting some areas while allowing others to remain open and quiet. The result is a piece that feels structured but not rigid—there's a rhythm to the composition, but it changes as your eye moves across the surface.
I especially love the dimensional details. Some of the glass shapes sit above the surface, creating subtle shadows and adding another layer of interest. And then there is the side glass tattoo—a small strip of the same imagery carried onto the side of the piece. It's an easy detail to miss from straight on, but it gives the work something extra when viewed from an angle.
A New Rhythm is finished as a substantial 2-inch-deep wall piece, giving the colorful glass composition a strong presence while keeping the overall design clean and contemporary.
