This deep, dark, moody "Zinfandel" comes from a favorite wine varietal. This deep alizarin crimson exploration is a turn to more mono-chromatic expressions. The color: passion (blood red), exudes deep, dramatic jewel tone rubies and red wine. i scratched uneven texture and lines drawn in to the oil to add an illustrative effect. I have since painted over this piece as I am unable to reconcile myself to reds/red tones.
