Allison's ongoing " Places " work results from her investigation-focused multidisciplinary approach to exploring and documenting specific locations. While she began this series during her residency at Zero Foot Hills, the abstract mixed-media compositions featured in this portfolio represent her sustained investigations across various sites. The artworks are divided into smaller series named after the areas she has immersed herself in, such as Durham, Cross River, and Ward Pound Ridge. Through meticulous observation and capturing the distinct qualities of each environment, Allison translates her experiences into these multi-layered works that prompt viewers to observe and reflect with a revitalized sense of curiosity.
