These are the first two paintings in an upcoming series about the questionable conquest of the Earth's atmosphere and the competition between world powers to colonize it with satellites. The large number of satellites in orbit is reminiscent of uncontrolled littering of the air. How did they come up with the idea of dumping tons of space junk into the atmosphere?
