Alane Holsteen lives and paints in downtown Denver Colorado, where she was born and raised. By day she works with victims of violent crime. At night you can find her digging in her small urban garden, or painting in her studio by the capitol. Sometimes she expresses the beauty of this life, sometimes it’s pain. She calls encaustic medium her artistic collaborator, because being of nature itself, it aids her in expressing the intricacies of life on this planet.
After seven years of intense study with the Denver Botanical Illustration Program, she began showing her artwork professionally. Since then, Alane continues to study at the Art Students League of Denver.
