Nyelli moved around a lot throughout her life but spent most of her time in Boston. She became interested in art from a young age, inspired by her mother's talent. She has taken up art in recent years and has been working at Artists for Humanity for the past three months, where she was introduced to the opportunity through a friend. She works with acrylic paint and mixed media collage. She explores themes surrounding her Cape Verdean heritage and Black culture.
My artistic style is all about pushing you to think. My work often reflects experiences unique to Black and city life. What motivates me to create is the feeling I get while creating and the thought process that goes into it.
