I live in Jamaica Plain with my mother, elder sister, niece and nephew. Usually using art as a getaway, I started doing art that had an uneasy look to it when I was about 7, getting inspiration from grunge animations and creepy cartoons. Seeing something that wasn’t considered “normal” and making it accepted after you understood it better. Using old recycled magazines that had odd pictures in them, I usually like to lay a bunch down to make it look crazy and have a lot to focus on, but then have a center piece that makes you uneasy and grabs you in. The end goal is wanting to send the message to people to not judge too easily. People need to open up to what they view as weird or what makes them uneasy and look deeper to understand before judging. That's what I try to show in my collages. Making a piece of art that is supposed to make you uncomfortable when you look at it at first glance, but once you focus on it and try to get a deeper meaning you understand it in a whole different way.
