The selected work from my Ancient Botanics series reframes ancient artifacts in a lighter, more whimsical light. A sculptural image we’ve seen a hundred versions of becomes a new character when covered in flowers, leaves, and butterflies. I’m interested in the transformation of these images when placed together. Light and airy butterflies bring movement to heavy figural sculptures. The collages are meant to invoke a sense of wonder and delight.
