Howard Daniel Becker (b. 1914 Albany, NY) was an American painter and watercolorist. He graduated from the Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, NY in 1935, and served as a documentary artist during WWII. While there, he painted and sketched the history of the occupation, port activities, and scenes of army life in Europe. Several of his pieces are owned by the Historical Properties Section in Washington, D.C., the Honesdale Historical Society Museum originally opened with 40 of his works on exhibit, and his works were once on exhibit at The Wayne County Historical Society in PA. He was married to Elsa Garratt Becker who was an illustration artist. Becker died in 1995.
