About the artist

John Castagno

American

1930-2018

John Castagno is well known for his modernist, abstract pieces and his contributions to the art world's understanding of artist's signatures. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the University of the Arts, Fleisher Art Memorial, and the Barnes Foundation. He has published many books on identifying the signatures of artists.
