About the artist

Antonio Murado

Based in New York, Antonio Murado (b. 1964, Spain) is a versatile painter who experiments with a variety of styles and techniques. From heavily-layered abstracted landscape to bold flowers brushed by impastos, Murado creates artwork with literary, mythological, and art historical references. The subjects of Murado’s work are often flowers and simple color palettes. The bold brushwork, accompanied by delicate details, altogether evoke meditative mood.

Murado’s work is among the permanent collections of museums in Spain, including Museo de Bellas Artes and the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporanea in Santiago.
