About the artist

Friedrich Meckseper

German

1936-2019

Friedrich Meckseper was born in Bremen, Germany in 1936 and trained at the State Academy for Visual Arts in Stuttgart and the College for Visual Arts in Berlin. He was a painter, printmaker, designer, and draftsman. His work has been described as “fantastical realism.” He arranged objects minimalistically and abstractly with technical precision with intricate detailing, showing an admiration for technology and engineering. He died in 2019.
