About the artist

Martin John Garhart

American

b. 1946

American artist. Garhart is known for his oil paintings, watercolor, etchings, and linocuts. He grew up in South Dakota. He currently lives in both a cabin/studio in the Black Hills and his home/studio in Powell, WY after teaching Studio Art for thirty-one years at Kenyon College. His works can be found in the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian, and in private collections.
