About the artist

Fritz Eichenberg

German-American

1901-1990

A German-American illustrator, printmaker, and professor. His subject matter is centered around elements of spiritual and emotional conflict, fantasy, and social satire. He came to the United States in 1933 and produced a wide range of individual images and book illustrations. Throughout his art work, he tried to express his hope for more justice in the world.
