About the artist

Robert Goodnough

American

1917-2010

American painter. Born in Cortland, NY and grew up in Moravia, NY. Goodnough earned his fine-arts degree from Syracuse University in 1940 before being drafted into the army, serving in the field artillery. He has displayed his work at military installations. His art style remained undefined despite being a member of the second-generation Abstract Expressionists. Goodnough was known as “one of the most underrated artists of his generation.
