About the artist

John W. Kelley

American

b. 1952

American artist. Earned a degree in art history from the University of Tennessee, followed by a degree in architecture from the Pratt Institute. His works consist of contemporary interpretations of Greek mythology, which he believes has timeless relevance regarding the human condition. Received commissions from institutions such as The Morgan Library and The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. His works can be found in permanent collections of the Parthenon Museum, The Tennessee State Museum, the Knoxville Museum of Art, and the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York.
