About the artist

Michael Ponce de Leon

American

1922-2006

American painter and printmaker. Ponce de Leon had solo exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. He received the Guggenheim Fellowship, two Tiffany Foundation Fellowships, and a Fulbright Grant for Scandinavia. He taught at Art Students League, Pratt Institute, Columbia University among many other schools. His works are currently on display at the Library of Congress, the National Gallery, and at other museums and U.S. Embassies around the world.
