About the artist

Robert Weaver

American

1935-2018

American painter, illustrator, and draftsman. Weaver studied at Carnegie Institute for Technology in Pittsburg, as well as in Venice, where he was influenced by Roberto Rossellini and Vittorio DeSica. He prreferred unglamorized realism to abstraction. His work combined loose, rough-hewn rendering, deft abbreviations, and collage to create realistic images.
