Jackie Milad is a Egyptian-Honduran artist whose cultural identity informs her art. Utilizing mixed media painting and collage, her work explores the histories and complexities of multiethnic identity and seeks to insert repressed stories into collective history. Milad’s visuals are often heavily layered, including varied words, symbols, textures, and colors onto a singular plane. She has been featured in group and solo exhibitions, including but not limited to The Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore, MD; Arthur Ross Gallery University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA; The Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC; and the Harvey B. Gantt Center, Charlotte, NC. Her works are included in numerous permanent collections, including but not limited to The Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore, MD; Academy Art Museum, Easton, MD; Johns Hopkins University Sheridan Library, Baltimore, MD; Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, Baltimore, MD; Pizzuti Collection at the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH and Meta (Facebook) Open Art Program.
