About the artist

Frank Huntington Stack

American

b. 1937

Earned his B.F.A. from the University of Texas and his master’s degree from the University of Wyoming. Taught art at the University of Missouri for forty years, during which he became a well-known painter, printmaker and comic artist. Collaborated with Harvey Pekar on American Splendor comics and the novel Our Cancer Year. Has exhibited in the U.S. in New York, St. Louis and Los Angeles as well as internationally in Paris, Turkey, and Korea. Made art his full time career after retiring from Missouri in 2003.
