About the artist

Charlie (Sharlette) Burton

American

1947-2019

Charlie Burton was a beloved local conservator. Arizona Illustrated did a documentary featuring Charlie restoring a Ted De Grazia mural on a patio wall in a private home after many years of weather damage; she was also involved with the restoration of the De Grazia chapel after the 2017 fire. She restored paintings and murals by important Arizona artists in Tucson, Duncan and Phoenix. Along with all her conservation work she was an award-winning water colorist.
