"The title “In Full Bloom” was derived from a series of three recent paintings that made me feel that “Life is Blooming Again”. I thought that the colors, texture, form, composition and movement of those paintings revealed to me a new life’s journey. It seems that the world of my canvas fills me with creativity, freedom, and beauty. And I hope that my paintings will provide the viewers a similar feeling." ~Eduardo Lapetina

About the artist

Eduardo Lapetina

A native of Argentina, Eduardo moved to the United States in the 1970s and enjoyed a long medical career before taking up art. Eduardo is largely self-taught and constantly experiments in his studio.
His ambition with his paintings is to use symbolic shapes and colors to express his deepest emotions and passion for life. This leads him to apply paint to the canvas in unusual ways -- by pouring, splashing, dripping, and scratching, and manipulating paint with palette knives rather than brushes. His paintings also require layers upon layers of paint to create a sensuous and turbulent surface texture that is as vital and as complicated as life itself. He uses color to allure an imaginative and subtle spatial elusiveness. His abstract expressions are the product of many days of working and reworking.
