Hiding in Plain Sight from the collection of Thomas Stevens Gallery

I wrapped all of the components around a dismantled floor lamp from my bedroom. The base was the right weight for the job, the overall weight of the lamp required something substantial. The Fenton bowl at the bottom covers three flicker bulb to give the appearance of operation. I love how this turned out.

Confiscated whiskey still from Prohibition Era

This floor lamp is themed around an actual primitive whiskey still that was confiscated by a North Carolina Sheriff during prohibition. I purchased it from the sheriff's grandson. It was supposed to be destroyed upon confiscation, thankfully, it wasn't. I cleaned up the copper pot only enough to preserve the copper while leaving some nice patina. Even the copper tubing is original, I recoiled it by heating it and rolling it around a baseball bat. It has flickering bulbs at the base to give the appearance of operation.
