Artist Statement
A long time ago, these grain elevators, farm houses and mills were new, full of promise, prosperity and plans. Today, most of these buildings remain, stuck at a crossroads of obsolescence and rebirth. Unremarkable to most, I find their simple shapes and quiet stoicism comforting and refreshing. In their wide-open landscapes, free of clutter and noise, my paintings feel like a deep breath. You can almost hear the meditative sound of wind passing through old boards and loose windows. ~ Dale Edwards
