This painting is part of The Good Earth Series inspired by the book of the same name by Pearl S. Buck.
Birds in the novel often represent freedom and the contrast between nature and human constraints. This painting of the two hens evokes the unspoken bond between women living parallel lives of endurance.
Animals in The Good Earth serve as more than just elements of rural life; they are woven into the fabric of the story, embodying the cyclical struggles, resilience, and interconnectedness of human existence with nature.
Framed acrylic painting on canvas.
