Graduating with a Master’s Degree in journalism from the University of Arizona, Zimbert worked on TV and radio interview programs, and founded the Tucson Film Commission.
Her artwork modernizes post-war expressionism, which influenced her as did weekly visits to the Cleveland Museum of Art as a child. Her art process involves applying and removing multiple layers of oil paint until figures, recently ballerinas or their essences, emerge. Zimbert is a member of TAG Gallery in Los Angeles and the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art.
