Jesus Saves, 2023

Archival Pigment Print

This captivating photograph by T. Chick McClure captures a vigorous religious crusader in intense devotion. With a cross held aloft in his hands, emblazoned with the message "Jesus Saves," the zealot dances in traffic, attempting to spread his message to everyone passing by. The stark contrast of the zealot's figure against the firey sky in the side mirror creates a striking visual impact, as though this man's faith is the only beacon amidst the chaos of a non-religious life or perhaps is, instead, a firey hell.

This photograph captures the sense of passion and urgency of the zealot and his mission to save souls and spread the message of salvation.
