“As I paint using thin layers of watercolor, I introduce subtle color shifts and treat the paint in a way to allow for spontaneity. Like memories, some details stand out, and others meld together in soft colors. For this ongoing series, I was inspired by the traditional art of quilt-making, paying homage to my grandmother who was a quilt maker and also incorporating different imagery from nature that compels me.”
