Won 1st place in applique amateur category at Paducah in 1992, Best of Show at National Quilting Association Lincoln, NE, as well as Third place and Judges Award at Silver Dollar City, 1st place from Artworks at Donnokers in Innovative Traditional category, 1st place and Best of Show at the Dallas Quilters Celebration 1992, 2nd place at Lancaster Heritage Quilt Celebration, Best of Show at Houston Quilt Festival 1992.

A central field, measuring 14” square contains sunflowers and is surrounded by tall sunflowers, water, and fish and a final outer border of 1”,3”, and 4” pieced strips respectively. The design is machine pieced, and set, and appliqued and quilted by hand. The quilting is by the applique, linear to enhance the design and straight feathers. An original composition featuring traditional elements such as sunflowers, fish, and leaves, all in a medallion format surrounded by multiple pieced borders visible at the top of the photo. The back also contains a square with appliqued fish.
