Our farrier had a quick look around the studio after finishing with the horses. When he saw this painting he was convinced the brown areas were attached pieces of leather. That is not the case and also was not my intention but I can see what he means and they do exude earthiness and a grounding feeling. The two blue shapes on the other hand add air and lightness to the composition.
