Hushed Elevations by Sandra M. Mucha

Hushed Elevations

Classical layered acrylic and archival transfer

30 x 24 x 1.5 in (76.2 x 60.96 x 3.81 cm)

In Hushed Elevations, the methodology shifts to create a transatlantic intersection. This work explores the collision of two distinct worlds. It captures a packed 1920s Paris crowd juxtaposed with a San Francisco street grid. The composition utilizes archival public domain imagery. By integrating these historical temporal layers through a disciplined classical approach of blended acrylics, the work suspends movement and noise within its architecture. The smooth layered elevations have effectively silenced the historical chaos. This leaves behind a complex geometry of muted anticipation. This work serves as the vital visual exhale within the broader portfolio. It demonstrates how a traditional layered application can resolve density into profound atmospheric stillness.
