Rift: Shine On reflects a deeply personal moment of separation. Leaving home and stepping into independence created a real sense of distance from family, a fracture that carried weight and uncertainty. Yet within that rupture, something luminous began to emerge. What could have remained only dark instead became a period of awakening. Travel, exploration, and expanded perception sparked a series of internal lightings that reshaped direction and identity.
The painting holds that duality. Deep, saturated blues anchor the emotional gravity of the past, while a surge of light pushes forward with quiet insistence. The break does not disappear. It becomes the very space where growth takes form. This is a portrait of becoming, where even in the presence of a rift, something essential continues to shine on.
