Rémanence explores the invisible traces left behind after someone has gone, the lingering scent, the warmth of their energy, the echo of a memory that refuses to dissolve. Flowers, long associated with feeling and impermanence, drift and swirl through layers of color and light, neither fully present nor fully gone. Like the French word from which it takes its name, the persistence of something after its cause has disappeared, this painting lives in that tender threshold between presence and absence, between what was and what remains.
