After an original oil painting by André Romijn, “Still waiting...” is now available as a beautiful signed, fine art print on museum quality Hahnemuhle German Etching paper.
This oil painting by André Romijn, titled "Still Waiting," presents a fascinating study of expression and mood. The artist employs a rich, warm palette, dominated by golden and earthy tones that give the subject a luminous quality. The woman's gaze, directed upwards and away from the viewer, suggests introspection or anticipation, aligning well with the painting's title.
Romijn's brushwork is evident in the textured background, providing a rustic contrast to the smooth rendering of the skin. The use of chiaroscuro—sharp contrasts between light and dark—adds a dramatic effect, emphasizing the contours of the woman's face and neck. Her red lips are a focal point, imbued with a sense of boldness amidst the otherwise muted color scheme.
Romijn's technique shows an understanding of classical oil painting methods, yet there's a contemporary feel to the work, possibly in the model's stylized features or the abstract quality of the background. The personal touch, the emotional charge, and the specific choices in color and technique all contribute to the unique signature of a human artist that may not be easily replicated by artificial intelligence
The work is mounted on a museum quality foam board and signed below right. There is also the framed option, with special anti-reflective and virtually invisible glass (up to 70% UV protection).
