Inspired by the traditional tree of life, this painting celebrates how important every individual person is. We are intricate, sometimes we need to stand alone but most importantly we are always growing. I have a passion for the beauty in nature and how it is able to achieve perfection. The Great British Oak is such a magnificent example of this. The shape of the foliage, its symmetry and balance and its very scale. There is something to be respected in the many years its taken to grow to such a stature. I've used intensive bright metallic golds to highlight each and every branch and cluster of leaves. An extremely intricate process but it brings the painting to life especially and allows it to reflect and light up all on its own. In direct sunlight it can seem quite blinding!
