Embers of Angular Ascent, 2025

Acrylic On Canvas

54 x 54 in

Embers of Angular Ascent balances sharp linear structure with the sweeping gesture of natural flame. Created through Raj’s signature Organic Movement process—using oil-soaked thread instead of brushes—the 54-inch square canvas resembles a scaffolding ablaze. Deep burgundy contours vibrate against glowing fields of orange and ember, while a central circular form evokes a burning solar body. This composition pays homage to the human urge to rise through struggle or creativity. Fusing tactile materiality with formal innovation, the work captures a "precision with pulse." It stands as a compelling centerpoint, holding the room like a held breath through its transformative energy.
