Paper Revisited at The Copper Fox Gallery.
I want to start this post by thanking everyone who made it out to Paper Revisited, and especially The Copper Fox for all their work putting the event together. I was pleasantly surprised to see two paintings find new homes that day, with a couple more finding homes soon after.
Leiper’s Fork is such a great little town and well worth a visit if you’re in the area. If you didn’t make it to the show, you can still see my work at The Copper Fox throughout the year. I try to keep the gallery stocked with plenty of new work.
Entry Earned is going places!
Entry Earned: A Father’s Test had a great run at The District Gallery in Knoxville. I was especially excited to see it included in Hellmouth Magazine as one of "The Great Eight: July's Can't-Miss Art & Culture Events." This was also mentioned in the Inside of Knoxville newsletter.
It was also rewarding to watch people spend time with the artwork, search for clues, and try to solve the mystery.
Now, Entry Earned is going places!
I just returned from Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I installed the piece for ArtPrize 2026. You can find it at Nonla Burger, 449 Bridge St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
ArtPrize voting officially begins September 18, but you can stop by Nonla Burger anytime they're open through the first week of October, grab a burger, check out the artwork, and see if you can solve the mystery.
My suggestion: go in the evening, grab a burger and an adult beverage, and give yourself some time to look closely. There’s more there than you might notice at first.
Coming Soon! Limited Edition Studio Kit
For years, people have asked me about my process and what it would be like to try it themselves. I've been working on a way to make that possible.
I've shared my process online and taught it through in-person workshops, but this will be a little different. I don't want to give away too much just yet, but I'll be ready to share more soon about First Flight, a limited-edition Studio Kit I'm currently putting together.
My process. Your hands.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, send me an email to randy@randylpurcell.com with "Studio Kit" in the subject line. Once I create the video and the kits I'll send out the email with an option to participate.
Until Next Time!
Thanks for following along. I’ll be back in a few weeks with an update on how Entry Earned: A Father’s Test is doing at ArtPrize. By then, I also expect to have the First Flight Studio Kit finalized.
If you’d like to be among the first to know when it’s available, just send me an email. The first edition will be limited to 20 kits.
Sincerely,
Randy L Purcell
