The Lakes Collection: The Warm Woolly is an intimate peek into the Great Lakes where I live. It’s a 4x6-inch acrylic painting that captures the essence of how I sometimes see the lakes by overlaying deep teals, rich greens, and golden undertones. Layered brushstrokes create that textured, almost wool-like effect, evoking for me the vast, rolling waters. My painting conveys both the warmth of the sunlit surface in the summer time and the mystery beneath, blending abstraction with a sense of expanding place. The soft, hazy horizon describes the mist rising from the water, reminiscent of the early morning walks and ever-changing weather patterns. For those of you who hear the water like the sound of a flute at dawn.
