Annette Israel is a Michigan artist, writer, and lifelong horse lover whose creative work is deeply rooted in faith, compassion, and a profound appreciation for the stories that connect us. Her passion for art began at the age of three, drawing horses long before she understood where that calling would lead. By fifteen, she was already an award-winning artist, and throughout her life, horses, animals, and the natural world have remained at the center of both her art and writing. Today, Annette creates expressive oil paintings—particularly horse portraits—that seek to capture the soul, personality, and quiet spirit of each being she paints.

Born and raised in Michigan, Annette’s path has been rich with experience, service, and creativity. She holds a master’s degree in Humanities from Central Michigan University and has worked as a State Trooper, college instructor, investigator, and advocate in domestic violence work. She has interviewed Holocaust survivors, raised and trained Arabian horses, taught riding lessons, and judged horse shows. Every person, animal, and experience has become part of the creative lens through which she sees the world, offering endless inspiration for her work.

Living on a Michigan farm where rescued horses find care and refuge, she embraces a life shaped by purpose, faith, and creativity.
