Usually Black cats are seen as bad omens who bring bad luck. This piece plays on this "stereotype" that black cats have obtained by showing how people view them. This is portrayed through personification as the cat is play poker, and winning with a royal flush while the other person playing against the cat (the viewer) is losing.
