"Morning Light Over Momich" is a soft pastel creation measuring 9 x 12 inches that delivers a serene depiction of the natural scene at Momich Lake.
The landscape unfolds with a gentle river in the foreground mirroring the surrounding beauty. On the left, trees in autumn's golden and green shades catch the light, while to the right, taller pines rise in a dense stand against rolling hills. The middle ground transitions from the earthy tones of these hills to the grandeur of mountains beneath a sky played with clouds. The color palette and soft brushstrokes work together to evoke a sense of peace and harmony, capturing the essence of an early morning at this beloved wilderness site.
The piece reflects resilience and a connection to a place that holds sentimental importance, as its inspiration stems from a memorable sunrise that embraced the artist with warmth and light.
This scene, vibrant with memories despite being touched by wildfire, holds deep significance for me, serving as a gentle reminder of perseverance and renewal in nature’s cycle. It encourages me—and hopefully you as well—to appreciate and relish each precious moment of natural beauty that life unfolds.
