About the artist

Luella Mossom

South African

I am born and bred South African and work and live with my Geologist husband Roger on the shore of the scenic Hartbeespoort dam in the North West Province. I have been a doll artist for about thirty years and a NIADA artist member since 2016.

ABOUT MY ARTWORK: My figures are mixed media with the main materials being paper clay on a metal armature costumed in paper and sometimes some vintage fabric. The heads and hands are finished in wax. The figures vary in height from about 15” to 30” and are free-standing.

My work is generally about life as seen through theatre characters and their inner emotional world. I create a cast and costumes for imaginary personal histories in this theatrical setting.

SHIPPING: All shipping costs will vary depending on your location and also the size and weight of the piece. The average shipping cost to the USA from South Africa is about $300 on average.

I ship via DHL international (from South Africa) which normally takes about one week.
