I created this multilayered work for the South Seattle Love 2026 exhibition at The Seattle Light Room. Each of its layers was shot within a five block radius of the light rail station in Seattle's Othello neighborhood and all were from the same shoot.
Through its history Othello has a unique multicultural mix--and perhaps because of that has frequently been under respected. But unlike other such neighborhoods being challenged by gentrification, Othello seems to be finding success in maintaining its vibrant identity while dealing with its changes.
