Scrolling one day, i saw an interesting piece from another artist that I thought was so cool, because the pattern in the background continued onto the person's clothing. I wanted to give it a try! Thinking through inspirations for fun, repeating patterns, I remembered the beauty and color that women's pagne fabric added to life in West Africa during my three years serving in the Peace Corps in Cameroon. I miss the colorful wax-printed patterns dancing around me like visual music as everyone hustled and bustled around in normal every-day life. From her exquisite curly afro-puff hairstyle to the colorful pattern she surrounds herself in, this beautiful young woman celebrates her identity with pride, style, and flare.
