It begins with what’s already here—marks made with energy, movement laid down without hesitation. The painting holds that first rush, that initial push of colour and gesture, and everything that follows grows from it. Nothing is erased, everything is carried forward. Layers build, shift, and respond, each decision made in relation to what’s already living on the surface. Lines circle, connect, and interrupt, while colour moves in and out, holding and releasing space at the same time. There’s a trust in what’s already been said—a willingness to listen, to follow, to let the painting lead. It doesn’t start over, it continues, and in that continuation the work finds its way—alive, present, and fully unfolding.
