The Camp Verde Artists Group's summer fine art show begins with an opening reception on Saturday, June 13, from 1 p.m. to - 3 p.m. The summer show will run through June, July, and August. Come, show your support for local artists during open hours; art enthusiasts are especially welcome. Admission to the reception is free and open to everyone. The Agave Gallery is located inside the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum. Museum admission will also be free on this day.
The exhibiting Camp Verde Artist Group members are Chianne Hope, Cindy S. Reay, E. L. Adams, Lacey Rather, Mary Rush (founder of the group), Merle Rose, Sally Reeves, and Zoe Reeves-Conway. Works included in the show are paintings, leather pouches, wall hangings, and sculptures. The artwork varies in style and media offered by the artists. The themes range from animals to landscapes to abstracts. It’s a beautiful show full of light and color.
Rush stated, “We are pleased to find a home at the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum for our art. We named the gallery space, The Agave Gallery, to give it a sense of place for the artists. The museum is a beautiful local cultural center that sets high standards, from its historical displays to its knowledgeable staff. It’s a lovely site for local art. Now, museum visitors can view local art and learn about local archaeology. I am grateful to the director of the museum, Monica Buckle, who has graciously opened the museum’s Kemper Meeting Room, now also known as The Agave Gallery, for our art exhibitions.”
Visitors may purchase works directly from the artists during the museum’s Summer open hours, Thursday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please call the museum at (928) 567-0006 to confirm the hours. The gallery is closed to visitors during museum events. Art lovers are invited to the opening reception on Saturday, June 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Verde Valley Archaeology Center’s address is 460 W. Finnie Flat Road, Camp Verde.
