The Toccoa River offers some of the most beautiful areas to photograph or paint. This bend in the river shows the light coming up in the morning, but also the morning atmosphere in the distance going around the bend. I submitted this painting to the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association for their plein air competition. It won the Second Place Award. It was an honor and I am always surprised. There are so many wonderful artists that come to this plein air event in September every year in the town of Blue Ridge, GA. Early morning is the time I am most inspired and I am glad I was able to capture the scene.
