Clearing Storm

Watercolor on 100% cotton paper

4 x 3 in

Framed: 7.5 x 6.5 x 1 in

This 4x3 inch original watercolor painting explores the tension between heavy, lingering weather and emerging light.

The sweeping, vertical blue washes give way to an earthy green horizon, creating a profound sense of expansiveness and chosen solitude within a miniature scale.

To preserve the beautiful, tactile nature of the archival cotton paper, the landscape has been carefully sealed with Dorland’s Cold Wax Medium and is presented unglazed.

It is housed in a substantial 7.5 x 6.5 x 1 inch frame. The deep, stepped profile of the rustic dark wood contrasts beautifully with the bright, gilded inner slip, creating a dramatic window that draws the viewer's eye directly into the horizon.
