Dogbane is a native perennial and a cousin of milkweed, with milky sap, slender paired seedpods, and stems so fibrous that Indigenous peoples twisted them into cord. That's where it gets its other names, Indian hemp, hemp dogbane, and amy root, and cannabinum means hemp-like. The "bane" is a warning, since every part of the plant is toxic.
Framed in a flat panel frame, gold metal leaf with a black, regular antique finish. Price includes frame.
