This is the first painting in the Pond Reflections series. The surface is heavily built, carrying its own history through layers of paint and revision. Within that density, the image of goldfish begins to emerge and dissolve, like something glimpsed beneath water. It moves between abstraction and recognition, where the eye catches a moment and then loses it again. The painting holds that tension between what is seen and what is felt.
